- Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Supply Chain expert to join our team. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy and in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Responsibilities Internal and External
- Collaborate with estimating and planning departments to identify requirements and optimise supply options for price and lead times.
- Place orders in a timely manner to ensure no project delays.
- Manage any concessions/material variations to ensure no project delays.
- Work with steel suppliers to assess alternative section lengths to minimise waste. Liaise with planning to re-nest production plans as required.
- Develop supplier relations and achieve best commercial condition
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements and leverage purchasing power to achieve best terms.
- Reconcile incoming goods with PO to allow payment of invoices
- Participate in supplier audit program to ensure quality and service levels are maintained
- Assess new vendor options for competitive supply chain
- Assure accurate stock holding reports to define materials on hand. Ensure ERP system is updated.
- Provide general procurement services to the wider business.
- Line report to the Production Planning and Improvement Manager
- Work closely with other team members of the Production Control and Estimating Departments
- Liaise with other departments as required
- Skills & Proficiencies
- Ensure that Purchase Orders include any necessary technical and regulatory information
- Monitor supplier quality and raise NCRs as appropriate
- Comply with applicable requirements of the HSE system
- Maintain a high standard in HSE attitude and behaviour
- Report any observed unsafe actions and conditions
- Good understanding of the purchasing and stock control processes
- Good organisational skills
- Willing to continuously improve
- Confident and approachable
